FTP user can’t change anything anymore!

Hallo, Gibt es eine einfache Möglichkeit auch unter HTProtect - das der FTP-User Dateien überschreiben darf und Rechte verändern darf - einige Dateien muss ich außerhalb vom Joomla-Admin-Tool hochladen oder aktualisieren! Mein FTP-User darf das jetzt nicht mehr! Schön ist auch ein temporäre Erlaubnis!

Hello,
Is there an easy way in HTProtect to allow the FTP user to overwrite files and change permissions? I need to upload or update some files outside of the Joomla admin tool!
Right now, my FTP user isn’t allowed to do that anymore! A temporary permission option would be great too!

Hi, I’m not quite sure I get it—what kind of hosting are we talking about, and which files exactly? Usually, there aren’t any permission issues between FTP and web/PHP users.

When overwriting or copying with the FTP user, I get the error message 😀
I can’t change the permissions with the FTP user!
550 image_gallery.php: Permission denied
Error: Critical file transfer error

But otherwise, it’s fine
I set the file permissions to 770 with the provider (HostEurope), overwrote the file, and then immediately set the permissions back to 640.
I don’t have any other fixes at the moment – it’s okay for now – but it would be nice to know what’s causing it:

If ftpxxxxxx is set, files created by Joomla/PHP (wpxxxxxx) can’t be changed and vice versa.

Is your FTP user maybe not set to wpxxxxxx, which is the recommended default?

You can adjust the ownership rights recursively in the Host Europe file manager – ideally everything including your FTP account to wpxxxxxx, so there are no conflicts.
