Backend login from abroad with additional password protection

Op het moment zit ik in het buitenland en wil ik een website bijwerken. Ik kom niet door de extra inlog van HT protect vanwege een ander IP adres, vermoed ik. Hoe kan ik alsnog in de website komen? Ik hoor graag wat ik kan doen.

I'm currently abroad and want to update a website. I can't get past the extra login from HT Protect, probably because of a different IP address. How can I still access the website? I'd appreciate any advice on what I can do.

Hello,
if I understand correctly, it’s not about the IP address but the device. If you’re working on an unfamiliar device, you first need to authorize that device using a trusted one.

HTProtect doesn’t have any IP or country restrictions.

If I’m understanding your post correctly, the pre-login password protection for /administrator isn’t working as expected for you?

If you’re accessing the backend via the wrong version of your domain (like using www instead of without www, or vice versa), you might have to enter your username and password twice. That’s due to the redirect between the two versions and is normal behavior, unrelated to HTProtect.

If you’ve lost your login details, you can remove the extra password protection in two ways:

Use the link in the email you got when setting up the password protection.
Or just delete the /administrator/.htaccess file via FTP or your host’s file manager.

After that, your normal backend access should work again.
