Settings in the Joomla backend and app dashboard keep resetting

Joomla Version: 5.4.7 HTProtect Version: 2.5.2 Hallo zusammen, wir testen derzeit HTProtect auf mehreren Joomla-5-Websites. Dabei haben wir festgestellt, dass sich verschiedene Einstellungen nach einigen Minuten automatisch zurücksetzen. Dies betrifft sowohl die Konfiguration der Erweiterung im Joomla-Backend als auch die Einstellungen der jeweiligen Website im App-Dashboard. Besonders aufgefallen ist uns das bei den Einstellungen für automatische Updates sowie bei der Zeitplanung der Malware-Schutz-Scans. Freundliche Grüße Marius

Hey everyone,

we’re currently testing HTProtect on several Joomla 5 sites and noticed that some settings reset themselves after a few minutes.

This happens both in the extension’s config in the Joomla backend and in the site settings within the app dashboard.

It’s especially noticeable with the automatic update settings and the scheduling for malware scans.

welcome to the forum and thanks for reporting!

The malware scan schedule is a .app Dashboard-only feature. There was a small bug here – if a schedule was set in the Malware Scanner overview, the detail view still showed "off". That’s fixed now – both the overview and the site detail view show the set schedule, and you can change the setting from either place.

For the auto-update settings, the .app Dashboard setting sometimes overwrote the component setting – with version 2.5.3 (releasing today at 6pm), you can change it in both the component and the dashboard, and they should stay in sync (the last switch flipped takes priority).

Feel free to test it out – if anything doesn’t work as expected, please let us know again.

After updating to 2.5.12, the settings were reset here as well. And once again, the automatic update of all plugins/components was enabled by default. That can't be right.

webbie07 I double-checked and spent 3 hours going through every possibility in 2.5.13 to make sure nothing changes there.
The "Update More Extensions" 7-click button basically just opens the extension list. Maybe the issue was that HTProtect itself showed as active in that list – now, since it has its own toggle, it’s no longer part of that "More" list. Nothing can change there on its own. See also
