Akeeba Backup doesn’t work after installing it in Laragon.

Heute wollte ich in Laragon ein Akeeba Backup einer Seite installieren. Installation lief auch ganz normal ohne Fehler durch. Als ich die Seite aufrufen wollte kam der Fehler: Fehler, gesicherte Verbindung fehlgeschlagen. SSL hat einen Eintrag erhalten, der die maximal erlaubte Länge überschritten hat. Auf der Seite ist HTProtect in der aktuellen Version installiert und aktiv. Danke für die Hilfe Klaus

Today I wanted to install an Akeeba Backup of a site in Laragon. The installation went smoothly without any errors. But when I tried to open the site, I got this error: Error, secure connection failed. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum allowed length.
HTProtect in the latest version is installed and active on the site.

The Akeeba Installer offers the option to reactivate the old .htaccess in the final "Cleanup" step – just disable that.

Or once the restore is done, simply rename/delete the .htaccess and recreate it using "Secure Now" in HTProtect.

If there's no SSL available, the Force-SSL option in the Joomla config might also cause conflicts and would need to be turned off.

I deleted the .htaccess file, and then the site worked. But when I click on "Secure Now," I get this message:
"Auto-rollback executed: After writing, the homepage went into a redirect loop (Status 301). The previous state was automatically restored. Most likely, a custom rule you imported (e.g., an old Admin Tools redirect) is conflicting with the Joomla/HTProtect redirect – please remove or adjust that rule."
However, I haven't added any rules to the .htaccess. It's all default. Also, the internal menu links on the site lead nowhere.

Are the "At the beginning..." and "At the end of the file" fields both empty in the advanced shield settings?

I can't think of anything else that would cause a 301 loop.
In a local Laragon dev environment, the protection usually doesn't matter anyway – you can just use the standard Joomla htaccess.txt template.

Internal links break if the .htaccess isn't active and mod_rewrite / URL rewriting is enabled in the Joomla config.

Thanks for the reply, Pascal. I renamed the htaccess.txt - links are working. But "Secure Now" doesn't work. The settings are fine. It's probably due to the local installation. Not really necessary anyway.
